Carl attended Camp Wellstone in Lexington, Kentucky. He recently wrote to let us know that he's been putting his skills to use. Check out what he has to say and watch his video on ending destructive mining practices.
"Thanks to my participation in a Wellstone Action training session I have the confidence to be more involved in the movement to stop a very destructive type of coal mining -- "Mountain Top Removal". The session I attended in Lex, Ky was sponsored by Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, a grass roots social justice organization involved in a diverisity of issues, and one is to stop this destructive type of mining. With me being a former coal miner, concern for our environment, love of the Applachian Mountains and the motivational training from Wellstone Action has encourged me to become more active in my community, state and other regions.
Ilovemountains.org and kftc.org are in alliance to stop this MTR and frankly I have been very involved and would like to attribute my involment to the Camp Wellstone I attended."
