
With a strong commitment to reproductive justice, Juana Rosa Cavero hasdedicated her career to ensuring that women and their families have theinformation, power and access to make informed decisions about their health andlives. In 2008, Juana Rosa joined the Pacific Institute for Women’sHealth, where she led communications and outreach efforts for the Los Angeles and Oakland,CA, based NGO. Here Juana Rosaworked with community-based organizations throughout the U.S. and around the globe, including Sudan, Uganda,Peru and Guatemala toadvance the sexual and reproductive health of women and girls. Throughadvocacy, public education, program development, training and researchstrategies, PIWH made great changes during its 15-year history.

In2009, Juana Rosa was accepted as a Fellow of the Women’s Policy Instituteof California to move state-level intersectional policy regarding reproductivejustice and environmental justice. Currently, her team is working onlegislation to improve government efficiency and cooperation inprotecting farm workers from overexposure to pesticides.
