Good post. Sarah Palin's motives for anything are pretty scary but I agree that community organizers (i.e. change from the bottom-up) is the way to go. Health care reform is too important to leave to the insurance-industry-lobbiests to control.

Just another instance of proof on the long train of GOP hypocrisy lately. Community organizing is one of the most important and effective jobs in the United States today.

We will all be community organizers some day... It's a shear numbers game... as is all of life... I am going to resign from my job soon, too... I just need to figure out what community to organize... what is the opposite of organizing hockey mom's to buy Avon products??

Great post... Community organizing and creating change from the grass roots level has a wide ranging ripple effect in that it empowers the people and gives them a sense that they are truly invested in the process and the outcome! Takes them from HELPLESS to HOPEFUL and creates the shift necessary for true change to take hold.

I fully agree we need more community organizers. Progress is slow, but because of grassroots hard work, things are slowly moving in the right direction. I'm hopeful and optimistic about seeing real progress on both health care reform and climate change legislation, and it will be because of bottom-up efforts.

Realize that Gov. Palin was launched from the top. It has now become apparent to her that the real focus and change starts with the people, good for her! No doubt she will have insights which will help with community organizing.

I believe Sarah Palin will accomplish great things in the future. As a woman, I am empowered to see her forge ahead with a strength of attitude and desire to continue to serve the people of her community. She obviously has strong family values. She has a record of contributing positively to her local community as well as her being a very popular Governor of Alaska.
Disagree with her policies if you will, but I hope to see her and her family treated more respectfully, expecially her children.

Sarah Palin may have the right idea. Bottom up change, not top down. Others of us didn't take as long to learn this message, and hopefully Wellstone can continue the great work that makes this point clear to anyone with the energy and desire to affect change.

I've been community organizing for the last 42 years, full time since I retired 13 years ago. Twenty years ago I was organizing in Wasilla, Alaska where I knew the Palin family. I have never known Sarah to be significantly involved in anything except marginal participation in her children's sports and in a fundamentalist effort to stop abortions from being performed at a community hospital. This is a woman who has never shown any ability to stick to any task, from her transferring through five third and fourth rate colleges in three states, to her mayoral duties in Wasilla, to her "hands-off" governorship, which she entrusted to high school buddies, friends from her charismatic churches and her neighborhood. This is a person with an incredibly incurious, lazy mind.

She is unable to perform without scripted speeches in front of a teleprompter, or using vague terms to describe her intended policies. She has zero grasp of issues. Even her Nixonian ('62 California governship loss) farewell speech, in large part a helping of word salad, was read from a teleprompter.

Her two oldest kids are a mess. Track hasn't been in the public eye, and his military enlistment may have been a move to either keep him obscure, or an unwritten condition and consequence of his shutting down the entire borough's school district for a day by vandalizing and disabling 100 school busses with three drunken teenage friends.

For all her complaints about supposed victimization, by lightweights such as Katie Couric, she has never been subjected to the scrutiny given most statewide or national political candidates. There's a lot more dirty laundry where that came from.

During the campaign, Canary Papers.com did articles whic h made me certain that legal problems will plague Sarah Palin for a long long time. The well-researched articles showed the actual invoices for over-charges on work supposedly done on the governor's mansion by First Dude. Plumbing, and master carpentry worik which he is not trained to do nor is he capable of doing same. These among other etihical violations make me wary of this woman.

Sarah would be on more solid ground to request and gain respect from the media and her political opponents if she followed two simple practices:

1) Stopped mocking (rather than respectfully criticizing) others, like Barack Obama, when she speaks publically

2) Kept her children out of the limelight rather than putting them front and center as "politioal props" - including Bristol's highly touted abstinence tour

She may want to "have it both ways" but it's not a realistic expectation.

Whatever someone wants to do to further our state's rights and our rights as US citizens - should be OK with everybody. However, if you are not concerned with an unconstitutional CZAR-Palooza - under the Obama Administration, then I can see how someone would believe that Sara Palin's motives for anything are pretty scary.

After all, Obama in 1992 was the Director of Project Vote, a project of ACORN, a radical leftist organization known for its long history of VOTE FRAUD - as evidenced by the ACORN offices being raided during the 2008 presidential campaign - although serial liar Joe Biden took to the airwaves and falsely protrayed that "We are not associated with ACORN" - regardless of the fact that the Obama camaign had paid ACORN over $800,000.00 through a straw corporation - Citizens Services - for a "get-out-the-vote" campaign on behalf of Obama; provided ACORN with direct access to over $5 BILLION from within his stimulus pacakage - regardless of the fact that members of Congress wanted to hold off any funding to ACORN until after the criminal investigation was concluded of ACORN being a crime syndicate involved in Vote Rigging - while other members of Congress wanted ACORN to be closed down by the federal governement as a crime syndicate involved in Vote Rigging.

Wasn't it scary that the White House stepped in to close down an investigation into ACORN for Election Fraud that was being conducted by the Chairman of the House Judiciary Commission - whose jurisdiction it is to move on such matters of Election Fraud - particularly after congressional hearings on people admitting to ACORN offering cigarettes and $1.00 each time that he duplicated his voter registration - registering 79 times; another person admitting to voting 17 times; the Obama campaign providing ACORN with its donor list for ACORN to solicit donations for ACORN and to kickback the money to the Obama campaign - as a campaign violation - all of which is being swept under the rug - unconstitutionally.

Wasn't it scary to find out Obama's close association with ACORN - SEIU - Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn, the unrepentent domestic terrorists - that Obama deceived everyone during the presidential election that he only sat on "a" board with Ayers - when Obama - for several years - was the Chairman of the Annenberg Challenge, an organization that Bill Ayers founded, colloborating with Obama to disburse over $100 MILLION; Obama also sitting on the board of the Woods Fund - colloborating with Ayers to disburse money to organizations with close ties to terrorists, such as through the Arab-American Action Network? Barack HUSSEIN Obama must have forgotten about the other board that he sat on with Ayers - and seems that he is not in touch with his own reality - or has evil motives for concealing his close associations.

Wasn't it scary that John Conyers as the Chairman of the House Judiciary Commission would issue a statement to the media that "the powers that be" do not want the investigation of ACORN to continue - but Conyers fails to admit that coincidentally his wife as a councilwoman was entering a guilty plea on bribery charges - with more criminal charges coming against her - that appears to be an extortion scheme for the White House to obstruct an investigation.

Wasn't it scary that after the filing of a Civil Rights complaint and a court ruling - with sanctions - in favor of the Justice Department - against the three members of the New Black Panther Party - involved in voter intimidation at the election polls in Philadelphia - that the White House would place a "political appointee" at the Department of Justice - to inform the career attorneys of the DOS that the White House wanted the complaint to be dropped against the three men - regardless of videotaped evidence of their acts of voter intimidation - and in spite of the court ruling against them committing civil rights violations? It was discovered that the three men were paid poll watchers, collecting payment from both the Democrat Party and the Obama campaign.

Wasn't it scary to find out the White House closed down the investigation of the radical Muslim convert who shot up the recruiting office, killing one soldier and gravely wounding another? The White House closed down the investigation - as RACIAL Profiling - although the FBI had the radical Muslim convert on their radar - as a potential terrorist on US soil - after the radical Muslim convert was tracked going in and out of the US with phony passports, training at radical Muslim training camps in Syria, Afghanistan, throughout Europe - and buying illegal firearms and assault weapons. The FBI stated that if they could have continued their surveillance of the radical Muslim convert, the FBI could have apprehended him before he killed anyone - instead of being forced to submit to the White House interfering in their investigation - in which the radical Muslim convert intended to shoot up other recuruting stations on the same day that he was apprehended after his first killing incident of his intended killing rampage.

Wasn't it scary to see the new logo that Obama wants for the United States of America - as reflected on the manufactured signs - being toted around by ACORN and SEIU members - at the Townhall meetings on Obama's healthcare plan - in which it is exposed that the Obama campaign had bused in members of ACORN from state to state during the presidential election - to give the false impression that people were coming out in troves to hear him speak - in the creation of a narcisstic MYTH on behalf of Obama - that seems to be imploding day-by-day.

Wasn't it scary to find out that the townhall meetings were manufactured "discussions" - with ACORN and SEIU members going through the back door - to eat up all space in the rooms - so that all the people from the community waiting outside - to be in attendance at the townhall meetings - are literally pushed to the side by SEIU goons and prevented from going in the room.

Wasn't it scary that while Obama wants a government takeover of our health care system - that members of Congress are acting as robots - without reading the bill - and the townhall meeting are a bunch of bullshyt and pro-Marxist propoganda crap - that Obama and his political strateigist Davd Axelrod - have to stoop to the level of having people pose as doctors in agreement with his health care plan - only for the person to not be a doctor at all but a delegates from Obama's campaign as president; using a child in Obama's games to deceive people - people with mean signs - how is any young person to know whether the health care plan is good or not - so that Obama can give the appearance of having family values when stating donn't worry honey, blah, bah , blah - only for the publc to find out that this was another Obama "plant" who is actually a daughter of one of Obama's sunstantial financial contributors from Massaichusettes, who allowed their daughter to be used for this phony business at a townhall meeting in New Hampshire.

Isn't it scary that Obama claimed that AARP was behind his healthcare plan - when AARP was not - and appears to be a pattern that Obama has established for LYING to the American people - intending to DECEIVE the American People - for Obama to give the false impression that AARP had endorsed his healthcare program - just as Obama had done with Caterpillar - by falsely claiming Caterpillar had jobs avaialbale when Caterpillar was actually laying off people - when Obama was trying to give the false impression to the American people that his stimulus package was working? How pathetic - but scary - right? The CEO of Caterpillar had to take to the airwaves to inform the General Public that the White House had made a mistake - there were no jobs available at Caterpillar, and that Caterpillar waslaying off people - 20,000; CEO stating that the White House refused his calls - and had not responded to his letter by courier - informing Obama of the "mistake"; CEO of Caterpillar claimed that he could not undertsnad why the White House would not stop disbursing "inaccurate" information of jobs being avaialbel at Caterpillar - when CEO aware that the White House received notice of the reason for his calls and letters; the CEO of Caterpillar speaking on the morning ews of how sad it was that some poor unemployed people jumped in their cars with their families to drive across country looking for the jobs that "our" president claimed that Caterpillar had - and could not understand if there were no jobs available, why would the President claim there were jobs avaialable.

Isn;t it scary - that a man who intends to deceive people that jobs are available at Caterpillar - would use a piece of Caterpillar equipment as a prop = to give the appearance of legitimcay to the BOLD FACE LIE he is telling the American people - that jobs are available - therefore his stimulus package was working.

Isn't it scary that a man who wants to deceive everyone that his stimulus package was working - would care less about the people that he harmed - belivieing his Bold Face LIE - that jobs were available at caterpillar - that Obama appears to be more concerned about maintaining his MYTH - and appears to have a malignant, pathological narcissistic MYTH going - that makes him dangerous - to run any business - let alone our country as President of the United States?

Wasn't it scary to find out that Obama is not such a great orator - but a teleprompter genius - except when his teleprompters fall to the floor - or when his ear pieces act up - and we hear too many "ers" and "uhms" - and know that the robotic nature of Obama's presidency is showing?

Wasn't it scary to find out that since there is great resistance - from the American people - to Obama's government takeover of our health care system, and resistance from members of the Democrat Party - whereas Obama does not have the 60 votes in the Senate to pass his radical health care plan, that has created the situation and the underhanded schemeing activities that Obama, Pelosi and the Democrat Party are working behind the scenes - trying to chage the long-standing senate rules of 60 votes needed - to 50 votes - so that the democrat party can shove Obama's radical healthcare plan through - in spite of losing the required 60 votes - and losing members of the Democrat Party who refuse to support their radical ideas - and against the wishes of the American people?

Isn't it scary to think that a man who refused - prior to the presidential election - to prove his "eligibility" to serve as President of the United States - refused to co-operate to willing produce hs personal records, in which his sheer arrogenace in refusing to produce and documents caused the filing of NUMEROUS LAWSUITS against him - challenging his "ineleigibility" to be in the presidential election or to serve as President - and that Obama and his flock of attorneys have stonewalled every court proceeding - in the NUMEROUS lawsuits filed against him - making a mockery of our American justice system - to obstruct any and all documents relating to his eligibility, vault birth certificate, college transcripts, selective service records - appears to be a Usurper - and attained the Office of the President of the United States - through ACORN's Vote Rigging?

Isn't it scary to think that the elections in the United States, are no different than the elections in IRAN?

It was slowly discovered that "The Obamas" are behind the constant ethics complaints against Sarah Palin - with ties through a wealthy couple, who were substantial financial political contributors to Obama's campagn for president, who are also now enjoying some of Obama's stimulus money - as the usual means with earmarks that "he Obamas" have used to pay off political contributors since the time that Obama was a US Senator.

This is evidenced by "Frank" posting information on Sarah Palin's background - on this blog - although he has been a community organizer in Alaska for 42 years - and would not think that people can see through his crap - that after 42 years of community organizing - everyone should know "frank's last name - but in writing about Sara Palin, frank refuses to identify himself. It is similar to Obama identifying his mentor in Hawaii - only as "Frank" - in his book - Dreams of my Father - when in fact Obama's mentor in Hawaii was Frank Marshall Davis, the Marxst activist and member of the COmmuist Party USA. Obama's outright lies and failure to identify a number of people in his books - caused the writing of Brad O'Leary's - "Audacity of Deceit".

While everyone - such as "Frank" is trying to keep the pressure on SArah Palin - while everyone is trying to keep the focus on a smear campaign against Sarah Palin, is actually a smokescreen to what is going on with the Obamas - such as subpoeans being served at the White House - Rahm Emmanuel, Valerie Jarret, David Axelrod - as soon as the 16- count indictment was handed down by a Grand Jury against Governor Rod Blagojevich for his participation in the sale of Obama's former Illinois senate seat. Obama's ARAB mentor from Syria - Antonin "Tony" resko - is co-operating with the feds - for Rezko's role as the Gatekeeper - in the sale of Obama's former senate seat.
As well, in information from a wiretap of Blagojevich, Blago calls out every job position and executive position of Michelle Obama's coming from Obama's "pay-to-play" schemes as a US Senator - such as the University of Chicago Medical Center receiving a $1 MILLION earmark from Obama as US Senator - in which Michelle Obama received an increase in yearly salary for a part-time, 20 hour work week - $317,000.00 - from the 120,000.00 a year part-time position.

CNN trying to spin this scandal on behalf of the Obamas went in search of speaking to someone about the "good work" that michelle Obama had accommplished at University of Chicago Medical Center - although CNN could only muster any hospital administration staff member or any board memebr who would agree to be interviewed - just a lady who claimed that she worked at the hospital at the same time as Michelle Obama, could not speak about what programs exactly had Michelle Obama implemented and only could say that she did good work.

CNN even asked the lady what was all the hoopla - that everyone was investigating - in which the lady stated - all the good work that Michelle Obama had done for the hospital. CNN should be ashamed of itself - for deceiving the world with their sneaky and sleazy reporting on behalf of the Obama to further conceal ANOTHER one of their scandals - improper earmarks, influence peddling and pay-offs to his wife - when Obama was a US Senator.

But then again this is the same sleazy deceit - as what occurred at the Town hall meetings on Obama's health care plan - with one of his delegates for his presidential campaign - pretending to be a doctor in agreement with his healthcare plan - who the ringleader of this Obozo's Circus of Freaks - kep trying to get rounds of applause for this PHONY DOCTOR - asking her questions about her profession and how long she had been practicing medicine.

WHY WOULD A MAN, WHO DECEIVES HImSELF TO BELIEVE THAT AMERICANS WANT A GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM - WOULD NEED TO HAVE PEOPLE intentionally misrepresent themselves at the Twon hall meetings, to POSE AS DOCTORS IN AGREEMENT WITH HIS HEALTH CARE PLAN?

Or why should Obama LIE that AARP had endorsed his healthcare plan - needing to deceive the American people - again?

Why certain people persist on SMEARING SArah Palin, and need to create Falsehoods to do it - when we have enough TRUTHS and SCANDALS about the Obamas that should have the Obamas removed from office - as the First Thug Couple.

Enough is enough. Deal with the REAL ISSUES - that Obama is a Usurper - and is trying to change our US COnstitution to fit his personal agenda for SOCIALISM - for our country - the United States of America.

Obama needs to go back to Kenya with his garbage - and leave Americans alone - with his pro-Marxist propoganda crap - and take his thugs with him.

If Obama's health care plan was so GOOD - why does he exempt himself and his family, members of Congress and their family members - and Obama's Master Puppeteers, the union bosaes and their family members?

With Obama's government takeover of our health care system - it commands that Americans provide all information about their private lives and private business - but yet Americans do not even known who Obama really is - as evidenced by his SHEER ARROGANCE to refuse to identify himself - or his true citizenship - or to establish his "eligibility" to serve as President of the USofA.!

Hey, at least one person in the vapid celebrity Pledge to Obama pledged to change herself before demanding change from others. The funny thing is that being outside the system and being seen to quietly do good is what really works, e.g. Jesus ministry; putting an AK-47 to folks heads and telling them to share is not God's way, but it is the way of liberals, and that was evident to our founders when they watched heads roll in France. But, you liberal types just lock arms there in the seat of power; you will be a bigger chunk to be voted out than if you were individuals. lol.

Seems it takes more space to try to prove falsehoods than speak the truth with these commenters. I see no hope for change for this country, not with the right wing nuts like Palin nor with Obama. Too much greed, "I got mine, now to hell with you', mentality. This country was populated by the weak, the poor and uneducated. People who couldn't survive where they were. Because of the ethnic diversity, we can not agree on the best direction for the good of all.
