Obama Presidency

I get the feeling that President Obama is playing a different game that he talked during and before his presidental campaign. He talks about combatting global warming but supports "clean" coal-an oxymoron if there ever was one. As an Illinois Senator he supported cost-effective, single-payer, tax-based universal health care but what he is proposing looks like the same-old, same-old. His appoints as Treasury Secretary the guy who was President of the Federal Reserve in NYC, a banker with banker's interests at heart and one of the architects of what got our economy in the mess it is now in.. He campaigned about getting out of Iraq forthwith but instead is continuing an American presence with growing cost and casualties while committing more troops, with attendant unaffordable costs in international support, American, Afghan and Pakistani casualties, not to mention the billions of dollars needed right here at home this little venture will cost to that sinkhole in Afghanistan. And to promote a just and lasting peace in the Holy Land he sends another famous person to engage in more endless negotiations. The time is past for endless negogiations with Israel. The time for action is what's long overdue, Like turning off the money spigot to force Israel to pay reparations for what it did to Lebanon and Gaza; stop its colonization of the West Bank ,and open Gaza's land and and sea borders. He seems so beholden to AIPAC and the Israel Lobby he can't see that true peace in the Middle East begins with a fair and just peace between Israel and the Palestinians. We knew when we got Obama elected the Progressives were going to have to lean on him if he were to deliver on the "change" he promised. When, wher and on what does Wellstone plan to do any leaning?
